Burglary Suspect Nabbed at N.J. Airport

Jorge Dandrade was planning to fly to Puerto Rico to escape arrest for 14 burglaries, police said.

 

A Bethlehem man wanted for allegedly committing 14 burglaries in the city, on Lehigh University’s campus and Bethlehem Township was nabbed at Newark Liberty International Airport preparing to fly to Puerto Rico, police said.

City police on Tuesday in finding Jorge Dandrade, 40, of 428 Hayes St. The arrest at the New Jersey airport was made as a result of information provided to police by citizens, police said.

Police said they found between $6,000 and $8,000 worth of stolen electronics and electronics during a warrant search of his home. Dandrade also sold stolen items to pawn shops and purchasing businesses around the Lehigh Valley, police said.

Ten of the 14 victims of Dandrade’s alleged burglaries occurred in campus housing at .

Dandrade remains in custody in New Jersey and no date has been set for his extradition to Pennsylvania, police said.
