Brother of Accused Killer Refuses to Testify

Invokes 5th Amendment; hearing for Macon, accused in 2006 murder of city teen continued.

A preliminary hearing for a man charged in the 2006 murder of a Bethlehem teen-ager was continued after the accused’s brother invoked the Fifth Amendment and refused to testify, according to this report on The Morning Call’s website.

Algee Macon, brother of the accused, Daniel Macon, refused to answer questions about the killing on the witness stand, invoking his Constitutional right not to incriminate himself. He had testified before the Northampton County Grand Jury that against his brother.

Daniel Macon is accused in the murder of 15-year-old Kevin Muzila. Macon, an alleged heroin trafficker, ordered a hit on a rival drug dealer. But the man he allegedly assigned to pull the trigger, Paul Serrano, knocked on the wrong door and shot Muzila in the chest.

Northampton County Assistant District Attorney Robert Eyer said he would pursue contempt of court charges against Algee Macon after his refusal to answer questions at the hearing.
