Brooklyn Man Pleads Guilty to Bethlehem Murder

Christian Bueno, 31, avoids death penalty with plea, sentenced to life in prison.

After two days of testimony, and just before a Lehigh County jury was about to begin deliberating, a New York City man pleaded guilty to robbing and murdering a woman in the parking lot of a West Bethlehem nightclub in 2007, according to this report in The Morning Call.

In entering a plea before the jury got to decide on his guilt, Christian Bueno, 31, of Brooklyn, will avoid the death penalty. Judge Maria L. Dantos sentenced Bueno to life in prison without parole for the murder of Debra Robberson, 45, of Hereford, Berks County.

Bueno and his accomplice have both pleaded guilty for their part in the botched robbery that occurred outside of , a gay bar on W. Broad Street.

In court, Bueno apologized to Robberson’s family, saying he never would have shot her in the heart if he had realized she was a woman, according to this story in Lehigh Valley Live.
