Bethlehem Woman Charged with Cutting Boyfriend

Emmaus Police: Broken glass slashed his arm

A 31-year-old Bethlehem woman recently cut her boyfriend's arm while he was sleeping in his Emmaus home, according to borough police.
Justine Kara Staddie of 1749 Linden St., Bethlehem, was charged with simple assault and harassment.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in Lehigh County Courthouse.
The incident occurred shortly before 4 a.m. Nov. 27 at 559 Ridge St., Emmaus.
Robert Schiff, the victim, lives at that address.
Schiff told police that Staddie, whom he described as his live-in girlfriend, cut his upper right arm with a piece of broken glass while he was asleep. He woke while she was cutting him. He said he fled the house and went to the home of a friend at 16 S. 10th St. to call police.
Schiff told police the two of them had been out earlier and got into an argument when they got back to his place.
Police observed three or four lacerations on Schiff's arm. They said Staddie admitted cutting him. She had a small self-inflicted cut on her own left arm.
Police previously reported that 26-year-old Schiff was charged with driving under the influence during the incident.
