Meet Bethlehem's 2 New Police Officers

Veteran who served in Afghanistan and former Washington, D.C., officer join Bethlehem department.

The Bethlehem Police Department swore in two new officers Tuesday.

Officer Joshua Rymon, a native of Washington, N.J., comes to the Bethlehem Police Department after serving four years with the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department. 

Rymon is a certified International Police Mountain Bike Instructor as well as a Crisis Intervention officer. Rymon graduated from Gettysburg College with a bachelor's degree in psychology and comparative criminal justice. Rymon, badge 41, is assigned to the department’s 1st Platoon.

Officer Glenn Woolard, a native of Coatesville, Chester County, comes to the Bethlehem Police Department following service with the U.S. Army 1st Batallion/75th Ranger Regiment. During his service in the Army, Woolard deployed three times during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Besides his military service, Woolard is an accomplished baseball player, having been drafted in the 10th round of the Major League Baseball Entry Draft. Woolard, badge 413, is assigned to the Department’s 3rd Platoon.
