Bethlehem Police Officers Promoted

Donald Hoffman and Dean Badman earn higher ranks

Sgt. Donald Hoffman and Officer Dean Badman are now officially Lt. Hoffman and Sgt. Badman after their promotion at City Hall last week. They both have served with the higher ranks in an "acting" role since February.

According to a news release issued by the Bethlehem Police Department, Hoffman, left, was instrumental in helping the department to obtain its re-accreditations with PLEAC and CALEA a year ago, when Hoffman served with the professional standards division. An officer since 1997, Hoffman has been a patrolman, an investigator and a community police officer. He earned a master's degree from Lehigh University in 2008.

Hoffman, right, is one of the field training officers for the department who helped implement a new records management system several years ago. He has been with the department since 1992.
