Richard Garcia charged with attempted homicide in July West Ward shooting.

Easton police say a New York native now living in Bethlehem shot another man last month in the West Ward.

Richard Garcia, 20, was charged Wednesday with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and unlawful firearms possession.

According to police, Garcia shot Eliza Trujillo early on the morning of July 25 on the 700 block of Ferry Street.

Trujillo was shot multiple times, but had recovered enough to identify Garcia from a photo line-up, police said.

It was not immediately clear Wednesday morning what led police to Garcia. He had initially been charged with giving false identification to police, for allegedly telling investigators his name was "Michael Garcia," and that he was 19.

Garcia was arraigned before Senior District Judge Elizabeth Romig-Gainer in downtown Easton, who set bail at $250,000 for the shooting charge and $25,000 for the false ID charge.
