Bail Set for Murder Trial Witness

Judge and prosecutors want to ensure that Algee Macon appears to testify against his brother.

A Northampton County judge has taken the unusual step of setting bail on a material witness in a trial to ensure that he appears to testify against the defendant, his brother, accused of involvement in a 2006 Bethlehem murder, according to this story on Lehigh Valley Live.

Algee Macon, 24, is due to be released from jail in October, following a four-year sentence on an unrelated aggravated assault conviction. Macon’s older brother, Daniel Macon, 26, is scheduled to go to trial in November for the murder of 15-year-old Kevin Muzila.

Bail for Algee Macon’s release has been set at $75,000 by Judge F.P Kimberly McFadden. If he makes bail, his release conditions include that he be tracked by GPS and that a bench warrant for his arrest will be issued if he fails to appear at Daniel Macon’s trial.
