Another Alligator is Found in Bethlehem

Bethlehem Police caught an alligator this morning swimming in the Monocacy at Illick's Mill Park, according to a press release.

The police were called to the park when the reptile was seen going over the waterfalls. After a 45-to-55-minute chase, officer Eric Yeakel was able to snare the gator and pull it out of the water.

A reptile expert identified the 3-to-3.5-foot long specimen as an alligator. It was taken to a facility in Saylorsburg "for rehabilitation" the release states.

In March, police also that was taking a stroll on Schoenersville Road. And police would like to hear from anyone with information about alligators in Bethlehem.
