Allentown Robbery Suspect Gives up in Bethlehem

There was a four-hour standoff with police before Kenneth W. Donaldson turned himself in.

Bethlehem’s Emergency Response Team surrounded a home on Cherokee Street Friday night until a man, wanted for robbery in Allentown, gave up, according to The Express Times.

According to the article: Police say that Kenneth W. Donaldson, 48, of Bethlehem knocked down a 57-year-old woman at about 8 p.m. Friday and ran away with her purse outside the  C Town Supermarket, 401 W. Tilghman St. in Allentown. A witness gave police the license plate number of the truck Donaldson and two females were seen driving. 

Bethlehem police later spotted that truck, and the two females told police that Donaldson was in a house on the 500 block of Cherokee.

After negotiating with police for four hours, the report states, Donaldson gave up at 12:15 this morning. No shots were fired.
