Allentown Man, 3 Juveniles Arrested for Weapons

Gun in plain sight after police tracked down car that fled fight scene.

An Allentown man was jailed Tuesday night after Bethlehem police found what they say was an illegal handgun his car.

According to police, officers were called to the 400 block of Media Street Tuesday night to respond to a fight. Witnesses reported seeing people involved in the fight leaving the scene in a maroon Audi.

Officers stopped a car matching that description, and noticed a handgun in the center console. The car was driven by Dwayne Elleson Love, 39, of 437 W. Gordon St. in Allentown.

Love was charged with two felony weapons possession charges: one for owning an unregistered firearm, and one because as a convicted felon, he's now allowed to own a gun. He's also charged with corruption of minors for having the gun in the presence of the juveniles.
