Alleged Drug Dealer Calls Cop a Pig, Resists Arrest

Allentown man was allegedly holding 67 packets of heroin during his confrontation with police in Marvine-Pembroke.

An Allentown man who called a Bethlehem police officer a "pig" had 67 packets of heroin, according to court records.

say Miguel Perez, 21, of 320 Susquehanna St., was walking along the 1200 block of Woodbine Street in the Marvine-Pembroke section of the city Wednesday evening when he caught the attention of an officer.

The officer wrote in court records that he tried to stop Perez "based on prior information and behavior."

Perez allegedly told the officer "Go f--- yourself, pig," and kept walking. When the officer finally caught up with Perez, he kicked and struggled before being arrested.

Police say Perez was carrying 67 packets of heroin, $183 in cash, and two cell phones. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, escape and disorderly conduct.

Perez was arraigned before District Judge Richard Yetter in Wilson, and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Ah, good ole Marvine-Pembroke! The gubmint projects... Whenever my mom would have to discipline us for unruly, disrespectful behavior, she would say, "stop being so marvinish!". That was in the 60's! Nothing has changed in this area except for the worse. Bethlehem dedicates a whole squad to this area, so peaceful it is.

I beg to differ. I grew up in Marvine Village, only a narrow minded family would make broad strokes in stereotypical judgment. Please reserve your response of … “I am not the typical product of this environment”….because I am typical. The family that grew up next to me: son: has his own construction company; daughter is a nurse. Family across the street (single mother); daughter is has a doctorate degree and teaches at the Unv. of MD I’ve heard tale how prejudice is inherited, but never believed it. I guess this is a lesson for me and hopefully you as well. Please teach your children there is no room for growth when prejudice is the approach.
