Alleged Drug Dealer, 'Bloods' Member Arrested

Home where warrant was served later condemned by city Health Bureau

A “self-admitted” Bloods gang member and alleged drug dealer was arrested Thursday afternoon after Bethlehem police served a search warrant at his Southside home, police said.

Justin Reid, also known as “Swag,” is in Northampton County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail following a preliminary arraignment before District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro.

In a news release issued today, police said they obtained a search warrant for Reid’s home at 317 State St., as a result of an investigation into crack-cocaine trafficking in South Bethlehem.

Inside the house, police said they found about 10 grams of crack-cocaine, with a street value of more than $1,000; 27 packets of heroin, with an estimated street value of $400; and more than $2,500 in cash.

Police said they also found ammunition, packaging material for drugs and “Bloods” gang related material.

According to court papers, Reid, 24, waived his Miranda rights and agreed to make a recorded statement for police, during which he admitted selling crack-cocaine and heroin.

The news release said Reid identified himself as a member of the “Nine Trey Gangster” Bloods.

As well as a possession charge, Reid was also charged with possession with intent to deliver crack-cocaine and possession with intent to deliver heroin, which are all felonies. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The police department’s Special Operations Unit served the warrant with assistance from the Emergency Response Team and the Street Crime Unit.

As a result of what police found at the home, they contacted the city’s Health Bureau, which subsequently condemned the house because of “deplorable and unsafe” living conditions, the news release said.

Two women who were living in the home were not detained, police said.
