3 Injured in Small Explosion at VegFest

Three women were taken to the hospital for treatment of burns following a fire at VegFest, according to published reports.

Three women working at a food stand at Bethlehem's VegFest were injured Saturday when a small explosion, possibly from a propane tank, sparked a fire, according to published reports.

The women suffered first- and second-degree burns, according to a report on lehighvalleylive.com.

The Bethlehem VegFest, the third annual street festival Saturday of all things vegan, featured guest speakers on the vegan lifestyle and holistic medicine, cooking demonstrations and live music.

The women were reportedly working at stand serving Malaysian cuisine.

The Morning Call reported that the fire had blown through the top of a canopy at the vendor site where the women were working.
