2 New York Women Arrested for Violating Sands Ban

Women who were warned to stay away from casino were found in the Sands parking deck Friday night. They now are facing trespassing charge.

Two New York women told by the to stay away or else ignored the warning and were found outside the gambling facility late Friday, court records say.

The Sands, meanwhile, made good on its warning – it had them arrested on a charge of defiant trespass.

The Sands gave Ngood Lee, 54, of Brooklyn, and Fiona Lee, 57, of New York two previous warnings, the records say:

  • On Aug. 6, they were served Sands eviction paperwork and signed it.
  • On Aug. 22, the pair was spotted inside the casino and given a verbal warning that if they returned, they would be charged with trespassing.

The records do not say why the Sands has banned them.

On Friday, a security guard spotted the women inside the parking garage just before midnight. As he approached, the women walked from the garage to the front of the casino, according to a criminal complaint filed by officer Emily Schock.

The guard caught up with the women by the main entrance but “they slipped out of his grasp” and headed toward Daly Avenue (Route 412). The guard, assisted by another guard, eventually took them into custody at the Daly Avenue traffic light.

The women were arraigned Saturday by on-duty District Judge Joseph Barner of Lower Nazareth Township and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $1,000 bail each.

The records say the women will need at Mandarin Chinese interpreter at their preliminary hearings.
