100 Packets of Heroin, $14,000 Seized in Arrests

One Bethlehem man and one Bath man were arrested following traffic stop at Rockland Park.

Two men, one from the city, the other from Bath, were arrested after police found more than 100 packets of heroin and $14,200 in their car during a traffic stop near , just before noon on Saturday, police said.

Arrested were the driver, Edgar Alberto Nunez-Chavez, 22, of 406 Old Forge Drive, Bath, and Lionell Aris Perez, 25, of 610 Fiot Street, Bethlehem. Marijuana also was seized during the arrests, Bethlehem police said.

Police saw controlled substances and drug paraphernalia inside the car during the routine traffic stop on the 1100 block of Rockland St., according to a news release.

Both men were charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and committed to Northampton County Prison, following their arraignment before the duty district judge, police said.
