What Goes in the Old Straub Auto Dealer?

What goes in the vacant auto dealership at W. Broad St. and 11th Ave.? Tell us in the comments.

The former Straub Auto Dealership at the corner of W. Broad Street and 11th Avenue in West Bethlehem is currently up for sale by the Dietrick Group LLC for $1.2 million.

The two-story, 8,515-square-foot building sits on a lot with parking that is nearly one-third of an acre.

According to Dietrick’s description of the building on-line, it is 72 years old and has central air-conditioning. Within a mile of this building, there are 15,722 residents, an average household income of nearly $60,000 and almost 700 businesses that employ nearly 9,000 people.

What business use would fit well with this section of West Bethlehem? What does the neighborhood need? What goes here? Tell us in the comments.

With all the new restaurants coming up in the area this would be a wonderful location for fine dining with ample parking and easy access to routes 22 and 378. Bethlehem's Dept of Economic Dev has many low interest loans and free programs to support local development. Let's hope we see continued growth in the area!

You've just blunted your own suggestion. We are reaching saturation point on restaurants in the area. Back in the days of high paying Bethlehem Steel jobs, maybe so. Now? Not so much. There's only so much disposable income to go around these days (I'll stop there...). One can see it already in concert venues. Folks can only apportion so much of their money to such things. In the case of concerts, we have gone from concert starved to close to over abundance.
