Common Sense for Animals Kicks Off First Online Animal Shelter Drive with YouGiveGoods

New Jersey Animal Shelter In Dire Need of Cat Food Turns to Online Donation Platform

The passionate team of animal lovers at Common Sense for Animals (CSA), founded in 1990 to promote animal welfare through education and community service, has paired up with YouGiveGoods as summer comes to an end in support of the animals in their care.

CSA, located in Broadway, New Jersey, strongly believes in aiding animals in need and providing a voice to those who don’t have one. Assistant Director/Kennel Manager, Brandee “Sassy” Garland started “Shop for the Shelter” as a new and unique way to raise food and supplies for the shelter. Currently, they are in need of dry and wet cat food (though other items including dog food, puppy food, kitty litter, paper towels, garbage bags, etc. are available for donation) in order to take care of the many cats living at CSA until they find their “furrever homes.”

Anyone can support the animals at CSA by clicking here. Food and other items necessary to the daily operation of animal shelters can be purchased online to donate to the Drive. Once the drive is over on September 23, 2013, YouGiveGoods will deliver the items to CSA and supporters will receive an e-mail to let them know when the goods have been delivered.

YouGiveGoods is no stranger to CSA. Animal Shelter Community Manager, Marie Maxwell, adopted her beloved Doberman Pinscher, Jenna, from CSA on Thanksgiving Day six years ago. Marie started a YouGiveGoods drive in support of the organization, and raised almost 1,000 pounds of food and supplies for the animals there. Marie said, “Common Sense for Animals is a wonderful organization. They are truly passionate animal advocates and I am so grateful for them, as I adopted my dog/best friend from them. We are extremely excited to be hosting their Online Shelter Drive, and look forward to working with them again in the future.”
