Are the rich less charitable?

Last fall two abused women were selling magazine subscriptions, walking door to door.  As they told me their stories, I was glad to contribute and bandage the foot of one of the girls.  They told me that I should meet my neighbors, that they were the most generous people they had ever met in their lives.  Then they showed me pages and pages of people who had helped them by buying from them. Also think of those who contribute to the Banana Factory, colleges, hospitals and museums.  This kind of charity can only be done by the rich.
