Wayne Klotz, 73, Steel Electrician for 30 Years

U.S. Navy veteran was member of Dart baseball team and rooted for Pittsburgh Steelers

Wayne M. Klotz, 73, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. 



Born in Allentown, he was a son of Emma (Frisch) Klotz of Bethlehem and the late Ira N. Klotz. Wayne graduated from Liberty High School in 1958, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1961.

He worked as an electrician at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1995. Wayne was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran church, where he was also a member of the Dart Baseball team.

He loved to read about history, and was an avid sports fan, particularly for the Pittsburgh Steelers. 



Survivors: mother Emma; companion Betty Holland of Bethlehem; daughter Susan Carregal and her husband Rob of Hellertown; son Michael Klotz and his wife Paula of Warren, OH; brother David Klotz and his wife Linda of Bethlehem Township; sister Elaine Davis and her husband James of Center Valley; 5 grandchildren.

Services: Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., where friends may call from 1:30 until time of services.
