Timothy Bannon, 58, Greeted City Hall Visitors

Former Northampton County Parks Department employee was avid fan of Notre Dame and Steelers.

Timothy P. Bannon, 58, of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday.

He was born May 25, 1955 in Bethlehem; son of the late James Thomas and Phyllis A. (Petho) Bannon. Tim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Roseann E. (Howell) Bannon.

Tim was a graduate of Freedom High School and attended Kutztown University where he was on the wrestling team.

He worked for the Parks and Recreation Department of Northampton County for 18 years and could be found at Bethlehem City Hall for more than ten years greeting people with a smile and answering phones. Tim was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.

He will be deeply missed by his wife; son, Everett J. Bannon of Bethlehem; step daughter, Tammy Taylor and her son Gregory of Catasauqua; brother, James T. Bannon, Jr. and his wife, Laura of Boynton Beach, Fla.; sisters, Christine M. Bush and her husband Robert of Bethlehem Township and Jeanette M. Wahl and her husband James of Wellington, Fla. as well as his nieces and nephews and all of his loyal friends who were like family to Tim.

Tim will be remembered for being an avid sports fan; especially for Notre Dame and the Steelers, his ability to tell a great story and for the love he shared with his family.

A visitation will be held at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and again on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a service to celebrate Tim’s life. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
