Lois Guerra, 59, Lehigh Valley Hospital Nurse for 38 Years

Lois lost 8-year battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday.

Lois M. Guerra, 59, of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday at her home surrounded by family, friends and coworkers after an eight year battle with cancer.

She was born in Bethlehem, daughter of Mary (Alonso) Guerra of Bethlehem; and the late Adolph Guerra.

Lois was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Reading and earned both a Bachelors and Masters Degree from DeSales University.

She was a nurse for Lehigh Valley Hospital for 38 years, most recently as the Director of the Orthopedic Unit at the Cedar Crest location.

She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

She is survived by her mother, Mary; daughter, Alesia Coulter and husband, Chad of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Cameron & Ava Coulter; brother, Richard Guerra and wife, Meg of Indiana; nieces, Michele (Tyler) Hasty and Danielle (Ryan) Mains; and nephew, Matthew Guerra.

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., and again on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow.

Interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
