Elsie K. Shaffer, 81, of Bethlehem Township, died on Monday, in Old Orchard Health Care Center of Bethlehem.
She was the wife of the late Edwin R. Shaffer, who died in March. They shared 61 years of marriage.
Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Mary (Steirer) Strauch.

Elsie worked in the production department at Just Born Candy Company for 39 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miller Heights.
Elsie enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors: a sister, Emma Moll of Bethlehem and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Herman Strauch and sister, Marion Strauch died earlier.
Services: A calling hour will be held 9 to 10 a.m. Friday in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 First Street, Bethlehem Township.
