Kathleen Ann Garman, the director of Human Resources for the City of Bethlehem, died on Sunday in Reading Hospital. She was 56 years old.
Born in Reading on November 22, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Catherine (Rapak) Garman.
She was a graduate of Penn State University, and received her MBA from Lehigh University in 1985.
Garman enjoyed exploring new destinations and cultures, according to a post on the Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory website. She traveled widely, and made many life-long friends wherever she visited. She was also an avid amateur chef who loved exploring the traditional recipes of her East European roots.
She is survived by her mother, Catherine E. Garman, Reinholds; brother, Gregory W. Garman and Dr. Phyllis A. Murr, Birdsboro; and a niece, Jessica E. Garman, Baltimore, MD.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 10 to 11:00 a.m., immediately preceding an 11 a.m. memorial service in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, Berks County.
