The Avett Brothers Coming to Musikfest 2014

Popular, GRAMMY nominated group known for 'I and Love and You' coming to Musikfest in 2014.

The Avett Brothers, a GRAMMY-nominated folk and Americana group, will perform on the main stage at Musikfest 2014 on Thursday, Aug. 7, ArtsQuest announced on Thursday.

This was the second main stage concert announcement in two days for the 31st annual festival of food, music and beer, which is still more than eight months away.

On Wednesday, ArtsQuest announced that up-and-coming country star Hunter Hayes will headline the festival on its second night, Aug. 2.

Tickets for The Avett Brothers—which will cost $40 and $50—go on sale to the public on Friday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. ArtsQuest members can start buying them on Dec. 3 at 10 a.m.

Named one of Rolling Stone’s “Artists to Watch” in 2009, The Avett Brothers have developed a loyal following thanks to their dynamic blend of folk, rock, country, bluegrass and pop.

Formed in 2001 by brothers Scott and Seth Avett, the group released its debut recording, Country Was, in 2002 and hit the mainstream with its 2009 release, I and Love and You.

A popular touring act, the group has entertained audiences at sold-out shows and major festivals throughout the nation. In addition to its busy performance schedule, the band has appeared on television shows such as Conan O’Brien, the Late Show with David Letterman, the Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the PBS’ Austin City Limits.
