Hunter Hayes Show at Musikfest 2014 Cancelled

First announced headliner of 2014 festival cancels because of scheduling conflict, ArtsQuest officials say.

Two days after ArtsQuest announced its first headliner for Musikfest 2014, the show has been cancelled because of a scheduling error, organization officials said through a news release.

Hunter Hayes, the 2012 Country Music Association's New Artist of the Year, had been scheduled to perform on Aug. 2, the second night of the festival, at 7 p.m.

"The cancellation is unfortunate, but it was out of our control," said ArtsQuest President Jeff Parks, who founded the festival 31 years ago. "We just announced The Avett Brothers show for Aug. 7 and we'll be making another major Musikfest concert announcement on Monday, so we're already very excited about how the 2014 festival lineup is coming together."

The Avett Brothers show announcement was made Thursday. Tickets for that show will go on sale on Dec. 6 for the general public and Dec. 3 for ArtsQuest members.
