Police Horses Benefit from Paper Horseshoe Sale, Contest

A $1 horseshoe purchase helps city's Mounted Patrol Unit and could win you a visit from the Budweiser Clydesdales.

The sale of paper horseshoes to benefit the Bethlehem Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit is under way at a number of locations in the city and across the Lehigh Valley.

Those who purchase the horseshoes at $1 each will automatically be entered into a drawing to get a visit from the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales when the horse team visits the Lehigh Valley in September.

The winner also gets a Budweiser gift pack and a six-pack of tickets to the Gildan Triple A National Championship Game being played at Coca Cola Park on September 17.

The Clydesdales will be spending several days in the Lehigh Valley in September, starting with the Valley Preferred Wheels for Hope Charity Bike Ride on Sept. 14. The visit to the contest winner will take place on Sept. 15. The Clydesales will also be on hand for the Triple-A championship game.

The Clydesdales' visit is a joint effort involving the Mounted Patrol Unit, the Allentown Beverage Company, Lehigh Valley IronPigs, and the Lehigh Valley Velodrome.
