There are many questions about 18th century Moravian practices: How did Moravians choose their marriage partners? Were couples really chosen by the Lot? How true are the stories about a blue cabinet where married couples had intercourse? And what did church members think about the way church leaders controlled their marital life? This presentation will shed light on Moravian ideas on marriage and sexuality during the 18th century. Paul Peucker is archivist of the Moravian Church in America, Northern Province. he is author of the forthcoming book: "A Time of Sifting: Crisis, Controversy, and Change among Eighteenth-Century Moravians." Included in Pass into History admission of $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-13, free for children 5 and under.Β
