Weather Service Warns of Wildfire Danger

Dry, breezy weather leads agency to issue "Special Weather Statement"

Dry, breezy weather has caused the National Weather Service to issue a wildfire alert for the Lehigh Valley. The service urges residents to postpone any activity that involves outdoor burning.

Northwest winds will gust up to 25 miles an hour at times.

"The winds will combine with the dry airmass and low fuel moistures to cause enhanced concerns for wildfire growth across the area," says a special weather statement issued by the NWS.
