Severe Thunderstorms Possible Sunday Afternoon

The National Weather Service says hazardous storms are possible as a cold front moves through the Lehigh Valley Sunday into Monday.

The season's first heat wave is waning and cooler weather is on the way.

But first, the Lehigh Valley may get hit with some strong thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Sunday, according to a "Hazardous Weather Outlook" issued by the National Weather Service.

Severe storms are possible Sunday afternoon and evening. Heavy rain could cause small stream and urban flooding. Strong wind gusts and even hail are possible, according to WFMZ meteorologist Amanda Cox.

Monday will be cloudy with the chance of storms continuing.
