Power Outages Reported After Thunderstorm

Trees and branches also down in West Bethlehem.

More than 700 residential electricity customers are currently without power in the city of Bethlehem following the thunderstorm that hit the region in the last hour, according to PPL Corp.

More than 2,800 electrical customers are now reported to be without power across the Lehigh Valley.

More than half that number is reported in the Bethlehem Area, as PPL is currently reporting that Hanover Township, Northampton County, has 643 residential customers without power and the borough of Freemansburg has 372 customers without power.

The thunderstorms also have resulted in downed trees and branches in West Bethlehem at the very least.

The region may not be out of the woods yet as far as thunderstorms are concerned. A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. However, the heat advisory for this region was lifted as of 8 p.m.
