Lehigh Valley Under Flood Watch

Heavy rain predicted for Monday and Tuesday leads National Weather Service to issue valleywide flood watch.

The Natonal Weather Service has issued a flood watch in effect for the Lehigh Valley from Monday afternoon until the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 7.

  • Rainfall of 2-4 inches is expected in a 48-hour period with higher localized totals of 6 inches.
  • This new rainfall following the record-high rains of August will cause street, stream and basement flooding.
  • River flows remain above normal and river flooding could become a concern later this week.

The forecast shows we may not get a completely dry day until Friday.
