A Northampton County judge ruled against a Nazareth woman who sued Lehigh University for $1.3 million because, she claimed, a poor grade in one class diminished her lifetime earning potential.

Attempted Murder Charges in Double Stabbing

Tony-Ray Arvelo of Allentown was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a man and a woman at an apartment at 502 Ontario St. in South Bethlehem on Saturday night. He was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and possession of instruments and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $300,000 bail.

Tech Hub Planned at Old Bethlehem Steel Building

Bethlehem is planning to open its fourth city-sponsored technology center, Mayor John Callahan announced Thursday. The project will reclaim the East Annex of the Bethlehem Steel General Office Building at E. Third Street and Founders Way. The center will welcome creativity-based businesses – such as architects, graphic designers and musicians – as well as those in the technology sector.

Waitress Fantasy Lands Alleged Stalker in Jail

Thomas J. "Tommy" Coyle was put in Northampton County Prison on Valentine's Day on charges that he stalked a waitress at three South Bethlehem bars. According to police, Coyle, 63, had cooked up an elaborate fantasy in which he and his victim were in love and planned to be married.

Mother Drove Daughter's Getaway Car: Police

Esmeralda Walker, 34, of Catasauqua was arrested Wednesday for her alleged part in a June burglary at 418 Broadway, in which she is accused of driving her 15-year-old daughter and her son's girlfriend to cut and remove copper pipes. Police said the pipe theft caused $50,000 in damage to the home because a fuel line was cut during the crime.
