Bethlehem Needs Xmas Trees

Christmas City planning for the holidays, seeking donations of large fir trees

The Christmas City is planning for the 2011 holiday season and needs local homeowners to think about donating trees.

The call for donations of well-shaped fir trees that are 40-50-feet high is going out now because this is the time of year when many homeowners are considering landscaping issues on their property, according to the Citizens’ Christmas City Committee.

Trees must be accessible by road and located within 10 miles of the city.

City electrician Greg Cryder will visit the location and inspect the tree for acceptability.

Tree donations will be recognized at the annual Christmas City Tree Lighting Ceremony, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 25 on Payrow Plaza.
