Good morning Bethlehem. Today is Tuesday, September 13, 2011, 102 days until Christmas in the Christmas City.

  1. Buy a chocolate bar and sing Happy Birthday to Milton S. Hershey, who was born on this day in 1857 in Derry Church, Pa. Hershey, of course, was a confectioner, philanthropist, founder of The Hershey Chocolate Co., the town of Hershey, Hersheypark, the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and one of Pennsylvania’s leading citizens.
  2. The new ramp exit and entrance onto the Hill-to-Hill Bridge opens today. The old ramp is going to be closed and, ultimately, dismantled. Traveling south across the bridge to Third Street, your left turn is going to come up a little sooner. To get on the bridge from Third Street, you will need to turn onto Brodhead Avenue to connect with the ramp entrance.
