City Council hears testimony tonight on officer who fired weapon inside City Hall.

  1. The road construction along Third Street at the south end of the Hill-to-Hill Bridge continues today with extended lane restrictions along Third Street between New and Cherokee streets and again at Brodhead Avenue. Shoulder work and widening along Seidersvile Road, Friedensville Road and Water Street will also make for slower going between Route 378 and Route 412.
  2. at the , 430 E. Broad St., from 4 to 7 p.m. Vaccinations are $10 for all city residents and students in the Bethlehem Area School District. Inoculations are free for some Medicare Part B patients.
  3. Bethlehem Township Commissioners meet at 7 p.m. at the . Among the items on the agenda is a proposal for a new work agreement with the township’s police union. The proposed contract runs through 2014.

  5. City Council holds a special meeting tonight to hear the case of suspended Police Officer at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall. Department leadership is trying to fire Rogers, 58, for firing his service weapon inside of a men’s room at police headquarters in City Hall on New Year’s Eve, then lying about the incident to superiors. Rogers claims he was ill and disoriented when the incident occurred. Rogers was subsequently granted a disability pension by the city’s pension board, but the city administration
