Ladies, bring those hidden talents to Stacks in the City tonight.

Good morning Bethlehem. Today is Wednesday, August 24, 2011.

  1. As you drive around today, keep in mind that PennDOT bridge inspectors will be out and about doing spot inspections, a precaution against any damage that may have been caused by . That could result in lane closures and delays almost anywhere. An inspection of the Philip J. Fahy Bridge had already been scheduled. A southbound lane across the Lehigh River may be closed.
  2. If you’re recently unemployed, longtime unemployed, looking to find a new job, start your own business, or want to learn about credit, CareerLink Lehigh Valley, 1601 Union Boulevard, Allentown, has multiple workshops scheduled today to help.
  3. Ladies, have some hidden musical, poetic or comedic talent that you are just dying to get out? may be the place for you tonight. It is open mike night at the weekly Stacks in the City ladies' night. Sign up starting at 5 p.m. to play up to two songs, read two poems or take eight minutes at the microphone doing something. Show starts at 6 p.m. and it’s free.
  4. Go to the at 7 p.m. tonight for a free showing of cartoon feature Megamind, starring Will Ferrell. Cops n’ Kids will be on hand to supply that one last piece of summer reading before school starts again next week. Popcorn, soda, hot dogs all for sale for a fun family night out.
  5. Modern folk music star Mary Chapin Carpenter has the stage tonight at the Musikfest Café starting at 7:30. Tickets at $59 and $49 are still available.
