5 Things to Know This Week

The working week gets off to an icy and wet start.

 

Good morning Bethlehem.  Today is Tuesday, January 17, 2011. Welcome to the working week.

  1. Watch out for some treacherous road conditions as the morning rush begins today. A winter-weather advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m., thanks to freezing rain that fell during the overnight hours and could continue past daybreak. Temperatures are expected to warm up into the 40s this afternoon, but it will be soggy. The National Weather Service says the high temperatures for the remainder of the week will be back in the 30s, with slight chances for snow showers tonight and Thursday night.
  2. The Bethlehem Area School Board meets in a Finance Committee session at 6 p.m. tonight at the on Sycamore Street. The agenda includes discussion of the district’s latest financial audit.
  3. Bethlehem City Council meets at 7 p.m. tonight in Town Hall.
  4. It’s Tony 'N Tina’s Wedding all week at . Nightly shows start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $75 and $65 and include an Italian buffet.
  5. The first of this year’s Book Sales, also known as the Best Book Sale in the Lehigh Valley, happens from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the main branch basement.
