Walk Over History: $10M Bethlehem Steel Promenade Planned

City officials and private stakeholders announced a $10 million project to build an elevated walkway and passive park atop the historic Hoover-Mason Trestle, a 2,000-foot railway that once carried iron ore to the Bethlehem Steel blast furnaces. In addition to providing scenic vistas and a new way to interpret Bethlehem Steel history, it will also carry pedestrians between the Sands Casino and the SteelStacks arts and entertainment venue.

Gary Kuehner of West Bethlehem is accused of being co-leader of a crystal methamphetamine ring, which stretched from Mexico to the Lehigh Valley and allegedly distributed $7 million worth of drugs over the past five years, according to state officials.
