Veteran Counselor and Businessman Appointed to Helm of PA Psychological Association Business Committee

Dr. R. David Mulligan, PsyD, MBA, of Bethlehem, has been named Chairman of the Business and Psychology Partnership Committee for the Pennsylvania Psychological Association.

Based in the Lehigh Valley, Mulligan is a successful psychologist, businessman and entrepreneur. He provides counseling, coaching, consulting, and mediation services to select individuals, couples, and organizations.

Mulligan, a former U.S. Naval officer whose varied background includes a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova, a MBA from Duke, as well as a doctorate in Psychology from Rutgers University, was named chairman of the business and psychology committee based on his expertise in the workplace, as well as in the psychology field.

"I am honored by this most prestigious appointment within the Pennsylvania Psychological Association," Mulligan said. "I will work to advance the mission of the association and continue the committee’s advocacy efforts to promote healthy workplaces."

Since its founding in 1933, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association–the third-largest state association affiliated with the American Psychological Association (APA)–has strived to advance psychology in Pennsylvania.

In conjunction with the APA, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association sponsors an annual awards program for Psychologically Healthy Workplaces. The awards are designed to recognize both state and national organizations for instituting policies and innovative programs promoting employee health and wellbeing while enhancing organizational performance and productivity. Mulligan serves on the committee overseeing the Pennsylvania Psychological Association’s Psychologically Healthy Workplace program.
