Picking Up Doggy Doo Across Lehigh Valley

It's a dirty job so why not outsource? Doodie Calls specializes in picking up pet waste so owners don't have to. It's a great gift idea for the busy pet owner in your life!

A Lehigh County-based business -- Doodie Calls -- helps manage pet waste across the Lehigh Valley.

Denise Cassidy-Dietsch wanted to work with animals and saw a need that wasn't being filled in our area so Doodie Calls was born.

Cassidy-Dietsch helps pet owners who are unable, busy or unmotivated to clean up after their pets and maintain a clean and healthy atmosphere.

Q – Name of and Type of Business?

A – Doodie Calls, LLC; Pet Waste Cleanup Service

Q - Number of years in business?

A - Serving the entire Lehigh Valley and Southern Carbon County since May 2012.

Q - Address, phone number, website?

A- P.O. Box 33, Walnutport 18088; 610-533-8082; www.doodiecalls.us; denise@doodiecalls.us

Q – Number of employees?

A – Only me.

Q – What is your specialty?

A – I clean up pet waste for busy people, those who are not physically able, those recovering from major surgery and those who love their pet, but not the dirty cleanup task.  I also clean litter boxes for expectant mothers and people who are on vacation.  I welcome both residential and commercial customers.  No job is too big or too small.

Q – What or who is your biggest competitor and how do you provide better services/products?

A –   I am not aware of another company in the Lehigh Valley area that not only cleans up dog waste, but also cat litter boxes.  I feel this sets Doodie Calls apart from other pet-waste cleanup companies.  I also welcome requests for waste cleanup for other types of pets.

Q – What is your mission statement or philosophy behind running your business?

A -   Doodie Calls caters its services to clients’ needs.  Be it once a week, twice a week or onetime cleanups, we are happy to design a cleanup plan specific to your request. We care about our community, which is why we offer discounts to seniors, veterans and those who have adopted shelter or rescue pets.

Q – Can you share a story about your business? A triumph or obstacle you’ve overcome, perhaps?

A -   A client recently asked me for help.  She realized that her dog was not in the best of situations, and asked me to help find her dog a loving home.  Through my network of friends, clients and rescue contacts, we found her a wonderful home that same weekend.  I lost a client, but was able to help a dog in need.

Q – Is there a history regarding your business you’d like to share?

A - My professional background is in the engineering and technical field.  My previous company closed and the business was sent out of the country. I thought it was the right time to start a business dealing with animals. I have always wanted to work with animals, and decided that pet-waste cleanup can be outsourced. From that idea, Doodie Calls was born.

Q – What are your plans for the future?

A -   My plans are to continue to clean up the Lehigh Valley, one back yard at a time.

Q - Do you have more than one location?

A - I have one location, but my business is completely mobile.  I travel to my customers.

Q – Is this a family owned/operated business?

A -  Yes.

Q – Is this a chain or franchise?

A -  No.

Q - Have you won any awards or had special recognition?

A - No, I have not.

Q - Did you receive any type of special funding to start up your business?

A - No, I did not.

Q - Is there anything else you’d like to share about your business? History etc….

A - I have found that for many reasons, be it ailing health, physical disability, or a host of other reasons, there are people who are just not able to keep up with their pet-waste cleanup.  I want to help these people keep their pets and keep their yard or litter box clean.  It’s healthier for the family and for the pets.  It’s also perfectly fine for a person to be too busy to clean up or if they just don’t want to do it.  I can help those people too.  Doodie Calls offers gift certificates, in any amount, which are great gifts for the pet lovers in your family or neighborhood.

** Common Myth about dog waste:  It is not lawn fertilizer - it actually burns the lawn.

Good for you! I only know of two other businesses that do this for dogs. Don't have cats so I have no idea re litterboxes. Good Luck!

This is EXCELLENT! As soon as I get my yard cleaned up (non dog waste) I will be calling to make a weekly appointment!

Good for you on starting your own business. Good Luck.
FYI - There are other companies that offer to clean cat litter boxes too. The company we used also offered this service.

If I could have counted on a daily service like this, I would not have let my physical limitations stand in the way of having gotten another dog. It would have to be at least every other day, if not daily, though. It's a great idea. It might take time to build and others to help but it has great potential. Good luck!

If you're saying it's not a franchise, you might check a bit further. I spoke to the people that founded Doody Calls approx 10 yrs ago. They are from Virginia

As this company is named Doodie Calls, you can see that they aren't affiliated with Doody Calls. Therefor not a franchise of the VA based business. If this person named their business Doody instead of Doodie they may face some sort of legal issues.

Just pointing out facts. You are also forgetting that money withdrawn from an IRA or 401k (exceptRead More Roth IRAs) are taxed at withdrawal. I prefer my government not punish good financial actions. Sorry it's a quirk of mine, I think we should reward those who make good decisions, not punish them.

I agree with you Interested Bystander. Problem is that if you punish the ones making the badRead More decisions, the Federal government will be punished all the time. In the current climate, poor decision making gets rewarded by voters. The middle class doesn't have a chance.

Naziti and Caroline Johnson so sorry to take so long to get back to you from your comments onRead More Sunday, May 5th, I didn't think I would have to respond. I re-posted Ken's comment because the REAL issue is "AARP selling out it's faithful supporters for BIG MONEY. So let me break it down so even the Soros trolls understand. ObamaCare guts SS and medicare reserve money by 750 Billion. Which ends these programs as we know them. AARP publicly backs ObamaCare. Seniors confused about OCare but trust AARP and their massive ad campaign for OCare. AARP contributes to re-election AARP becomes insurance provided for OCare. Unleashes host of insurance options that Seniors will be needing to make decisions about in next 2-3 years. Complicate the choices for Seniors so they fall back on who they have trusted in the past. Still unaware of the great deception perpetrated by AARP. OCARE fully enacted 2014. AARP gets steady $$$ insurance income now (not $16 membership fees for whoever posted that line above). SS and MediCare bankrupt (3/4 trillion $ stolen to fund OCare) Result for SENIORS. NO SS or MEDicare it's dissolved or becomes something less. Free OCare that sucks. Pay AARP for supplemental Ins. Prescriptions too expensive to purchase so go without or pay AARP for better plan. AARP richer and more powerful represents Gvmt Seniors - Self rule lost You see they screwed the very people that paid dues for their protection!
