Valuable Rare Book Donated to Library

The Bethlehem Area Public Library will be accepting bids on a very rare book at the Fall book sale on Wednesday, September 18 from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A limited edition hardcover with gilt edge copy of Israel, A Personal History was donated recently to the Library. The memoir is signed by Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion. The book, documenting the founding of the modern State of Israel, is in excellent condition and contains two glossy black and white photo sections. Only 2000 copies were published of this limited American edition, and the each historical account has been selling for upwards of $2000.

Laurel Stone, Book Sale Manager, will be on hand during the sale to answer questions and show the rare find to serious book sellers and book collectors. Sealed bids will be accepted only during the book sale on either day.

This sale also features Judaica and books relating to the Jewish Holocaust. An additional 10,000 books, DVDs and CDs in good to excellent condition will be on sale at the Main Library, 11 W. Church Street. Best sellers, nonfiction, children’s books, teen reads are displayed in book store style and are affordably priced.
