The Outlets at Sands Bethlehem is hosting a Fashion Show benefitting the Bethlehem Area Public Library on Tuesday, April 30.  The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Guests are eligible to win a citrine, quartz and white sapphire pendant from Ultra Diamonds. Professional models walk the runway showcasing the newest summer arrivals from The Outlets and Sophistikate. Shopping and exclusive discounts at the trendy outlet stores follow the show.

Children need room to grow, succeed, dream and learn. The Bethlehem Area Public Library has the resources for children to grow into a better future, but we lack the space. The goal of the Room to Grow project is to improve our physical space to better serve area children and families.

The first phase of the Room to Grow project was completed in 2011 at the Main Library with relocated offices and the expanded Laros Meeting Room outfitted with new technology for public use. Phase II required a three month closure of the South Side Branch for interior renovations, transforming it into a welcoming and safe community treasure for South Bethlehem families. An improved layout and furniture designed for computers, comfortable reading alcoves for adults, whimsical seating to engage the Library’s youngest patrons, a storytelling space, and a flashy teen area were  part of the improvements that provide better access to the Branch’s collection.

Phase III of the project will complete the Children’s Center at the Main Library by installing new furnishings, flooring, ceiling, wiring, and ADA-compliant bathrooms on the second floor of the Main Library. The design will inspire children’s creativity and imagination for generations to come.

Guests of the Fashion Show will enjoy exquisite appetizers and desserts prepared by Sands Executive Chef Victor Bock. Cocktails or wine will be available for all guests. The Fashion show will feature professional models on the lengthy runway stretching down the center of the first floor of The Outlets. The show previews elegant summer styles from GUESS, DKNY, Talbots, Chicos, Dressbarn, Coach, Tommy Hilfiger, Under Armour, Van Heusen, IZOD, G.H. Bass, Nine West, and selections from the downtown Bethlehem boutique shop, Sophistikate. Children will model clothes and accessories from Hartstrings. European Body Concepts will style the models’ hair and make-up.LadyBowTie is coordinating the show along with Sophistikate's owner, Kate Falasca.

After the fashion show, a remarkable selection of sumptuous desserts will be displayed on china and linens from Lenox and Old Farmer’s Almanac General Store.

Area businesses are partnering to make this evening memorable. Just Born, Inc. has generously supported the capital campaign from its start and returns as the featured sponsor. King, Spry, Herman, Freund and Faul law firm and The Philadelphia Trust Co. have also returned as sponsors.

Tickets are on sale now for $75 per person at the Main Library, 11 W. Church Street, or online at www.bapl.org. Tickets must be purchased in advance. All proceeds of the ticket sales benefit the Library. You must be 21 or older to attend. For more information, phone 610 867-3761 x259.
