Shadow Stories will take center stage at the Charles Brown Ice House on Sand Island, Bethlehem at 10 a.m. Stories from China, Africa and Bali will be performed accompanied by live Indonesian and Balinese music. The program premieres Mock Turtle’s new shadow play, The Grumpy Gecko, along with audience favorites Travels to Tondo and Legend of Sung Low. Children will be delighted by an unusual cast of characters including antelopes, civet cats, lions, water buffalo, and village children from each locale.

The performance will be followed by an optional workshop and demonstration of Balinese gamelan musical instruments and the shadow puppet theater. Tickets are $5 for the show and $7.50 for the show and workshop. Proceeds benefit the Bethlehem Area Public Library. Buy tickets online, in person at the Main Library, 11 W.
