He popped the question, you said yes. What next?

Your about to plan the biggest party of your life with dozens of moving pieces. Where to begin?

Before you get started take a step back. Enjoy the moment. Next, yes ladies this is your big day. No doubt about it. (as it should be) It's girls who dream about their wedding day. That being said, do try to include your Fiance in big picture decisions. Remember, your marriage is going to be a partnership. Starting the wedding planning process as a partnership makes sense.

Before you dig in. Have some fun. Your probably ready to announce the big news. Consider an engagement shootGood photographers make sessions laid back and stress free.

Step 1: Have a conversation about 3 items. The date, tone and guest list.

First, narrow it down to season. Winter, Fall, Spring or Summer?

Next talk tone. Party? Elegant? Over the top? Rustic? Tone helps you settle on Venue. We'll talk venues next week. Select a venue that matches your tone.

Consider "outside the box ideas" like this Citizens Bank Ballpark Wedding!

Finally, ballpark a number of guests. Understand this will be a moving target. That's normal at this point. Once you have it ball-parked you can roughly guess the "real" number. That is people who will RSVP affirmative.

Use this as a general rule of thumb:
Under 50 invited: 90%+ will likely attend
75–100 invited: 75–90% will likely attend
100+ invited: 70–80% will likely attend
150+ invited: 65–75% will likely attend

Next week stay tuned for Step 2 - The Venue
