Sounds Good

In Bethlehem, we love music. From our famous 10 day Musikfest to our newly opened SteelStacks complex, Bethlehem has a passion for music of all sorts.

In Bethlehem, we love music.  From our famous 10 day Musikfest to our newly opened SteelStacks complex, Bethlehem has a passion for music of all sorts.  The Bethlehem Area Public Library recognizes this and provides a selection of CD's and DVD's that are certain to satisfy your need for music that moves and excites you.

Recently at BAPL, we were talking jazz.  The RiverJazz festival happened at SteelStacks and music from headliners flew off the shelf.  The jazz bug was in the air, so we continued to display jazz classics, both old and new.  From John Coltrane to Billie Holiday, James Carter to Cassandra Wilson, the old school and the new lions are both represented in our diverse jazz collection.

Recently, an interesting influx of music arrived in our DVD collection.  Classic rock concert films from U2, Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, The Band, Guns n' Roses, Bon Jovi and more all hit the shelf at once.  Seeing all those legendary names raised the eyebrow of this writer and brought back many memories. Perhaps you, too, want to take a trip down memory lane and check out a concert film. Or, maybe the younger heads want to check out live footage of some of the music that influenced the current generation.

Whether it is Musikfest or the library, free music is a staple of our community and its presence is sure to enrich our lives.  Southside, Northside, jazz fests, concert films, anywhere you hear it, it sounds good.
