When Does High School Football Season Start?

With school scheduled to start in about two weeks, the start of the high school football season is not far behind.

The Freedom Patriots get to host the first game of the year at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium when they play the East Stroudsburg South Cavaliers on Friday Aug. 30 at 7 p.m.

The Liberty Hurricanes open their season at home following night at 7, Aug. 31, against the State College Little Lions in another non-conference game.

The Bethlehem Catholic Golden Hawks travel to Pocono Mountain West for their first game on Aug. 30. The Hawks’ first home game will be against Easton on Sept. 14.

The Crusaders of Notre Dame—Green Pond open up their season at home against Palmerton, also on Friday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m.

Other important dates on the schedule include Liberty playing at Bethlehem Catholic on Sept. 28; BeCa playing at Freedom on Oct. 25; and Freedom playing at Liberty on Nov. 2. All of those games, of course, will be played at BASD Stadium.
