Willie Nelson 80th Birthday Tour to Stop at Sands

Country music icon Willie Nelson is coming to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center on June 16 as part of a tour that will celebrate the legendary singer-songwriter’s 80th birthday, which is coming in April, Vision Entertainment Group announced on Monday.

Nelson’s new album, Let’s Face The Music and Dance, is due to be released on April 16.

With a career spanning over six decades, Nelson’s new album will be added to his collection of more than 200 albums already under his belt. Willie Nelson and Family will launch a nation wide tour this spring in support of the new album.

Nelson has won seven Grammy Awards and numerous other honors including some from the American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards and the Country Music Association Awards. Nelson is a co-founder of Farm Aid, an annual series of fundraising events, which began as an all-star benefit concert in 1985 to raise money for American family farmers.

Vision Entertainment also announced that former Doobie Brothers singer and solo hit-maker Michael McDonald will also be coming to the Sands Event Center on July 7 at 8 p.m.

McDonald, a Grammy Award winner who also sang with Steely Dan, recently announced that he will start a new tour in April.

McDonald launched his solo career over two decades ago with the album If That’s What It takes.
