The Family Stone Added to Musikfest Concert
Soul, funk pioneers and Rock N' Roll Hall of Famers The Family Stone added to KC and the Sunshine Band concert scheduled for Aug. 8.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Family Stone will join KC and the Sunshine Band on the main stage at Musikfest Aug. 8, at 7 p.m., ArtsQuest announced on Monday.
Tickets for the show, which are $32 and $42, go on sale May 21, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and May 24, 10 a.m., to the public. They’ll be available at www.musikfest.org and 610-332-3378.

Founded in 1967, Sly and the Family Stone produced classics such as “I Want to Take You Higher,” “Everyday People,” “Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin,” “Dance To The Music” and more.
In 1993, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and at the 2006 Grammy Awards ceremony it was honored by an all-star lineup that included Joss Stone, John Legend, Adam Levine, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and others. Today, The Family Stone continues to perform, delighting audiences with its timeless blend of rock, soul and funk.
