Sing for a Chance to Take a Musikfest Stage

The Voice of the Valley contest is looking for singers, fans for Allentown contest on Sunday. Winner will get a Lyrikplatz show, voice lessons and studio time.

 

Do you think have what it takes to be a great singer? Do you think you are more talented than any of those American Idol or The Voice contestants, but you just haven’t been “discovered” yet?

You will get a chance to prove it this Sunday in Allentown at "The Voice of the Valley" contest.

The winner of the contest will get to sing a 40-minute set at Musikfest’s Lyrikplatz stage; a chance to be the opening act at a Listen Live Music performance; studio time to record a four-song compact disc; and a month of voice coaching from .

The contest will be held at Pitcher’s Bar & Grille, 570 Union Boulevard, Allentown, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday. A $7.00 cover charge at the door (friends, fans, groupies, cheering sections) will also be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Each performer or group will have eight minutes to perform. Judges will be making their decision based on vocal ability, musical ability, stage presence, and song selection. Judges will include Lehigh Valley music professionals, radio personalities and ArtsQuest staff. 

The top three contestants will be invited to a grand finale performance at The Big Blowout, a Harmonica festival, on June 3, from 2 to 8 p.m., at , where the final judging will take place and a winner will be announced.
